  • Legion of Mary

    The purpose of the Legion of Mary is to give glory to God through sharing the mysteries of the rosary with others. In sharing with others, it will also bring you closer to Our Lord.   • Men's Scripture Study

    This group provides an opportunity for fellowship with other men and ask questions about the Catholic faith. Join us for 8:30am Mass followed by our discussion in Coleman Hall at the St. Bede’s campus. We look forward to seeing you!   • Prayer Chain

    The prayer chain exists to pray for all those experiencing a family crisis or in need of special prayers. Please call Lois Pflieger at 847-395-2713 with your requests or to pray for others.

  • Prayer Warriors

    Prayer warriors is a fellowship community based in prayer. Daily rosary, monthly book club discussions, faith enrichment presentations, movie discussions currently featuring The Chosen, and a variety of other virtual gatherings. All are welcome to join.   • Rosary Makers

    Meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm for rosary recitation, 7:00pm in the St. Bede School conference room to make twine knotted rosaries. All are welcome! Any questions, please call 847-204-2412.

  • Rosary Ministry

    Members pray the rosary, share petitions, and on occasion pray a novena together. Join us every week Monday through Saturday after weekday Masses at both campuses.

  • Women of the Word "WOW"

  • Eucharistic Adoration

    Our adoration ministry meets on the first Friday of the month at the St. Bede Campus from 6:30-7:30pm. Volunteers for this ministry assist with coordination of the holy hour.

  • Religious Education and Youth Ministry

    Our Lady of the Lakes Religious Education and Youth Ministry Programs, in partnership with parents, continue the mission of Jesus Christ through the faith formation of all children in the areas of education, worship, community and service.   • SPRED

    SPRED is a ministry designed to meet the spiritual needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Through the experience of friendship in one-to-one relationships, our friends with special needs discover a place where they belong. They enjoy meaningful relationships and are helped to realize their own giftedness and dignity. Through their experience of SPRED, they are able to celebrate the sacraments and find nourishment for their spiritual life.

    SPRED centers are located in many of the Lake County parishes. Our Lady of the Lakes hosts the adult group. There are groups for children 6 years to 10, adolescents from ages 11 years to 16, young adults ages 17 years to 21, and adult groups for 22 years and over.

  • Connections

    Connections is Oll’s young family ministry. We offer a community of friendship and faith for families with children from 0-elementary age. It’s organized and led by parents in our parish, so it’s created by and for families! We provide opportunities for families to find connections and friendships that will help us all grow in faith.

  • Knights of Columbus

    The K of C is a fraternal organization of Catholic men to provide assistance to the parish, families, and the local community. We have two wonderful groups of men that serve the Our Lady of the Lakes community. To learn more or join one of our Knights of Columbus Council’s contact;

  • Council of Catholic Women (CCW)

  • 'Prime Timers' Senior Group

    Prime Timers is a group for Seniors from Our Lady of the Lakes Parish. This group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month for friendship, a nice meal, programs, outings and more. Liturgical Ministries

  • Altar Servers

    Servers assist the celebrant at each of the liturgies throughout the year. Students from St. Bede School and the Religious Education Program who are in grades 6 through High School are eligible to assist in this ministry. Contact Dcn.   • Lectors

    Lectors proclaim the 1st and 2nd Scriptural readings at Mass on Sundays, Holy Days and Holidays as well as the 1st reading and psalm response at daily Masses. A class is required for certification and is offered through the Archdiocese usually in Spring and Fall. Please contact the parish office to inquire about training at 847-587-2251.

  • Music Ministry

    Music Ministry has several ways to share your vocal or instrumental talents, for the liturgical celebrations in our parish. These include cantoring, traditional, contemporary, children’s choir, and resurrection choir as part of the bereavement ministry singing for funerals.

  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

    Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve the parish by assisting in the distribution of Communion at Sunday and Holy Day Masses.   • Bereavement Ministry

    This ministry provide presence, strength and hope to the bereaved after the death of their beloved family member. Volunteers meet the families to assist with planning the funeral Mass, setting up the church, and being present during the Mass. Most funerals are during the week with some on Saturdays.   • Ministers of Care

    Provides communion to those unable to attend Mass on Sundays. If you are in need of this service or would like to be trained as a minister please contact Deacon Gregg Zeifert at the Parish Office at 847 587-2251.

  • Sacristans

    The sacristans care for the church altars, sanctuary, and sacristies on a weekly basis. The environment contributes greatly to the overall experience of the congregation. We are seeking people who have an appreciation of religious art and know how to express it with good liturgical sense.   • Ushers

Art and Environment Opportunities

  • Campus Care Ministry

    This group helps maintain the gardens by weeding, deadheading, transplanting, and installing new material as needed. They purchase and maintain the seasonal decor in the planters around the church grounds. Many hands are needed and welcome.   • Sanctuary Seasonal Decor Team

    This team designs and implements the decor for liturgical celebrations in the church. If you wish to donate your time and creative talents, please call the parish office at 847-587-2251 for more information.

Outreach Opportunities

  • St. Vincent de Paul

    “The vocation of the Society’s members, who are called Vincentians, is to follow Christ through service to those in need and so bear witness to His compassionate and liberating love.” (from the Rule of St. Benedict)

    The Our Lady of the Lakes parish society responds to those in need with financial assistance, a food pantry, coat and blanket drives, and Christmas gift drives.   • Open Arms Mission

    Parishioners assist Open Arms by volunteering on site by unloading trucks, stacking shelves, and delivering to the homebound in Antioch and Lake Villa Townships. Some may sit on the board, manage the warehouse, offer their financial support or serve weekly dinners at the Senior Center. Call parish office at 847- 587-2251.

  • Respect Life

    The goal of the Respect Life Ministry is to proclaim, by word and action, the teachings of Jesus Christ on the respect for the dignity of each human being, from conception to natural death.
